Use Mughal Road for two days: IGP to highway travellers

WhileMeteorological Department has predicted significant improvement in weather fromSaturday, the traffic police department has asked the people to travel byMughal Road instead of the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway that will be openfor movement of Durbar Move vehicles on Saturday and Sunday.

Inspector general of police traffic AlokKumar told Greater Kashmir that the pressure on Srinagar-Jammu highway wouldease now because the Mughal Road has opened.

   

Meanwhile Kashmir received rain for thesecond day on Friday, causing a drop in temperatures.

“There would befairly widespread light rain/thundershowers in Kashmir, scattered in Jammu andisolated in Ladakh regions till Saturday morning,” a MeT official said.

“From the afternoon there would be significantimprovement in weather.”

The official said Srinagar recorded aminimum temperature of 7.4 degrees Celsius against the normal average 9.7degrees Celsius at this time of the season. At 18.7 degrees Celsius, themaximum temperature was nearly four degrees less than the normal temperature atthis time of the year.
