A series of awareness lectures on sexual harassment in the workplace was conducted by Islamic University of Science & Technology, Awantipora recently.
The lecture series was organized under Equity Action Plan(EAP) of TEQIP-III project, sponsored by World Bank and MHRD, a spokesperson ofthe university said.
The lectures were delivered by Anisa Jan incharge Dean ofStudents and Member, Sexual Harassment Committee, Munejah Khan HoD, Department of English Language &Literature and Member, Sexual Harassment Committee) and Shazana Andrabiincharge HoD, Centre for International Relations. Students of School ofEngineering & Technology attended the lecture series and were made aware ofwhat constituted sexual harassment at the workplace and the University policiesin place for redressal of grievances pertaining to the issue. The studentswelcomed this action and urged for more such events in future.
