Set up SIT to probe Rizwan’s custodial  death: HCBA  

J&K High Court Bar Association, Srinagar, Tuesday condemned alleged  custodial death of Rizwan Ahmad Pandit and demanded setting up of special investigation team which should report to chief judicial magistrate on daily basis on probe.

The Bar Association in a statement demanded that the killing of Rizwan Ahmad Pandit, an innocent teacher, should be investigated by a Special Investigation Team, which should report the result of the investigation on daily basis to the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar, so that those, who are responsible for the killing of an innocent person, do not go unpunished.

   

The Bar Association also appealed the international community to take notice of the alleged  custodial killing of Rizwan Ahmad Pandit and raise their voice against the massive human rights violations, which are taking place in the State of J&K “at the hands of forces, to suppress the demand of the people for their right of self-determination.”

“In order to record its protest and express solidarity with the members of the bereaved family, the Bar Association decided to support the strike call given by the Joint Resistance Leadership on Wednesday. It was  decided  that all the lawyers will abstain from the court work on 20 March, 2019,” the statement added.
