Masoodi seeks evacuation of stranded Kashmiris

National conference MP from Anantnag Hasnain Masoodi on Friday expressed dismay over lack of concern by the government toward the plight of hundreds of people stranded in different parts of country.

Masoodi hit out the government for not coming to the rescue of those stranded in various cities across the country. “I have been getting SOS calls from the stranded Kashmiri students, laborers, businessmen and scores of people evacuated from Iran and other countries presently putting up in various quarantine centers. The quarantine period and the required SOP’s issued for the return of all the evacuees from Iran and others quarantined at Mumbai, Jodhpur have already been carried out properly. Therefore, the government must take immediate steps to ensure return of these people to Kashmir,” he said.

Masoodi while referring to plight of Kashmiri students stranded in Bangladesh and Krygistan said the government should take immediate steps to evacuate them.

“The government should come to the rescue of all those including students, businessmen, laborers stranded in various cities in Haryana, Punjab,Uttrakhand, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. These people are running out of money. I urge the government to evacuate these people,” he said.
