Traders of Downtown here today decried lack of parking facilities in Old City.
In a statement, chairman Shehr-e-Khaas Traders andManufactures Coordination Committee Nazir Ahmad Shah said lack of parkingfacilities is taking toll on their business.
“In absence of parking facilities, people are forced topark vehicles on roads at Zaina Kadal, Maharaj Gunj and Bohri Kadal. The problemis compounded in absence of traffic cops. We are ready to help the districtadministration in identifying spots for construction of parking slots,”Shah said.
Shah also decried lack of water points in Downtown areas.”Commuters also face problem in absence of adequate passenger buses andsumos during evening hours. We urge the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to directthe concerned officers to streamline transport system in Old City and pressmore passengers buses into service,” he said.
