Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday said that authorities have booked the chief spokesperson of the Jamaat, advocate Zahid Ali, under Public Safety Act.
“Jamaat strongly condemns the PSA slapped on advocate ZahidAli. It’s muzzling of peaceful voice by suppressive tactics. Ali has been underpolice detention since 22nd of February, 2019,” a statement said.
“He was detained bypolice during midnight raid from his residence and was shifted to PS Shergariwhere he was lodged for hours and then back to PS Kakapora. After a week he wasshifted to PS Ganderbal where from he was moved to Central Jail Srinagar’, thestatement said. “Today PS Ganderbal slapped PSA on him. Earlier Mufti MujahidShabir Falahi was also booked under PSA and was shifted to Kot Bhalwal Jammu,”it added.
