Life returns to normal in Kangan after 2-day shutdown

Life returned to normal in highway town Kangan on Tuesday after two-day shutdown against the killing of a local militant.

Rahil Rashid Sheikh of neighbouring Nunar area, an M. Techstudent turned militant, was killed along with an associate in a gunfight withsecurity forces at Imam Sahib area of Shopian district on April 6, just threedays after joining militancy.

   

Shopkeepers, transporters and other businessmen resumed their work and all kinds of transport was plying on the Srinagar-Leh national highway in Kangan area. Delegations from different walks of life including trade, political, religious, social and political groups visited the slain militant’s residence at Nunar.
