5 killed in Kotli

Muzaffarabad, Dec 12: Five members of a family were killed and one survived after their dilapidated house collapsed in the southern city of Kotli in Pakistan administered Kashmir on Wednesday, police said.
 Shahzad Ahmed, an official in city police station Kotli, told Greater Kashmir by telephone that the mud-roof house of Mohammad Maroof, a car-washer, in the town’s Balyah Mohalla collapsed after an under-construction wall of its adjacent building fell on it at about 2 pm.
 As a result, all six inmates were buried under the debris. Residents of the area and police carried out the rescue operation but could recover only one of them alive, the official said.
 The deceased were identified as Riffat Shaheen, wife of Maroof, her daughters Fareeda and Gurya, son Zeeshan and son-in-law Altaf. The survivor, also a son of Maroof, was identified as Zulfiqar.
