ED’s chargesheet against Shabir Shah pack of lies: Mehmood Saghar

The former convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (Pak chapter) and vice president of Democratic Freedom Party, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar has termed the Enforcement Directorate’s charge sheet against senior Hurriyat leader Shabir Ahmed Shah as “a pack of lies.”

“Such tactics would not deter Shah from pursuing the cause of freedom from India’s forcible control,” Saghar said in a statement.

“Since New Delhi has miserably failed to suppress Kashmiris’ struggle for right to self-determination, it has started a vicious campaign against the pioneering leaders of the movement. India must bear the fact that Shah is the man who dedicated his entire life for the cause of Kashmir. Jails, interrogations, torture and persecution won’t deter him from pursuing the cause of freedom for which he spent 30 years of his life in Indian jails”, the DFP leader said.

“Settlement of the Kashmir dispute under the UN resolutions was imperative for ensuring durable peace in south Asia. I demand release of Shabir Shah and other Hurriyat leaders. I appeal to the world human rights organizations to take serious notice of the illegal detention of Shah and use their good offices to ensure his full protection and early release,” he added.
