DSEK releases Book on Modern Learning Approaches, teaching techniques

The Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Tasaduq Hussain Mir on Saturday released a book titled Modern Learning Approaches, teaching technique for joyful learning authored by Dr Rabia Mughal

Dr Rabia Mughal is a lecturer in the school education department and is presently posted as academic officer at State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) Kashmir.

   

The book was released during a function organized at the Directorate of Information and Public Relation (DIPR) Srinagar.

In his address, DSEK who was also the chief guest at the occasion, congratulated Dr Rabia for writing the book and said the book was directly related to the students and teachers as well in the contemporary education scenario.

“We are here to promote education and it has been my endeavor that there should be some change in the department,” he said.

He advised the teachers present at the occasion to go through this book religiously and adopt the techniques in schools as well.

“You should follow the book so that we will have better results on the ground. We all should read this book and adopt these chapters in our curriculum,” he said.

He said the department was bound to perform well on the ground and teachers need to update themselves and communicate with the students.

“By this way, our teaching will become joyful and result oriented as well. We all should remember that we have to perform or perish,” he said.

Himayun Qaisar in his address lauded Dr Rabia Mughal for compiling the book and appreciated her for being active in other fields of the department.

Daughter of the author, Kibria presented the foreword of the book which was written by former DSEK Dr Shah Faesal while Fazal Elahi, a teacher posted at IASE Srinagar, presented his book review at the occasion.

While speaking at the occasion, Dr Rabia Mughal extended her gratitude to the gathering for attending the launching ceremony of her book.

“We know students remain burdened the whole year on account of examination and teaching process. They do not get time for any enjoyment and fun,” she noted.

Mughal said learning becomes easy when it is done with happiness and utmost interest. “The meaning of education is to modify the behavior for successful life and students can modify their behavior if they do it happily. I have written this book keeping in view the happiness of students,” she said.

Stating that the love was the best pedagogy she said this book, if followed by teachers, will ease the students from stress and bring happiness on their faces during the teaching learning process.
