Security forces claimed to have unearthed a major militant hideout, located in Bari Rakh village forest in Mendhar Tehsil, and recovered 11 Tiffin IEDs and 1262 bullets on late Thursday evening.

Security forces claimed to have unearthed a major militant hideout, located in Bari Rakh village forest in Mendhar Tehsil, and recovered 11 Tiffin IEDs and 1262 bullets on late Thursday evening.

As per reports, an operation was launched by a joint team of army and police in Bari Rakh forest ranges during which an old militant hideout was busted. A huge amount of arms and ammunition were recovered from the hideout which included 2 AK-56 weapons, AK-56 Magazines – 26 (12 loaded and 14  empty) with loaded magazines having 360 rounds, AK-56 bullets – 793 Rounds,  3 Pistols, Pistol Magazines – 2, Pistol bullets – 63, PIKA Gun bullets – 46, PIKA Magazine – 1, Tiffin IEDs – 11, Detonator – 20, RPG rounds – 3, Chinese Hand Grenade – 4, Compass – 1, Bayonet – 1, Map Sheet AIMPL – 2, I Cards – 3, Communication Sets – 7, 1 Code Sign, 1 Wallet,  Pak Currency 500 rupee notes – 17, Pak Currency 1000 rupee notes- 8, Photographs – 1, Sling – 2, Diary – 2, Water Bottle – 1 and 2 Carry Bags.

"We have busted a militant hideout and have recovered arms and ammunition while search in the area is going on," SSP Poonch Rajiv Pandey said.
