Sixteen people sustained injuries in a road mishap that took place at Kundherdhan in Chassana on Saturday.

SHO CHassana Ali Imran said, "In a road mishap, two Matadors, JK20 6921 and JK02W 8912, collided head-on, resulting in injuries to at least 16 people.

Among the injured, three were shifted to District Hospital Rajouri for advanced treatment. They have been identified as 28-year-old Asha Devi, wife of Kamal Kumar and a resident of Tulli, 48-year-old Mohammed Sharief, son of Ghulam Qadir and a resident of Gabbar, and 28-year-old Taraq Hussain, son of Mohammed Shafi and a resident of Dandote."

The other injured were shifted to PHC Budhal and administered first-aid. "All the injured are stable and out of danger," the police said. The injured have been identified as Mohammed Zaffar (25), son of Mohammed Ameen and a resident of Bagankote, Naresh Kumar (45), son of Devidass and a resident of Balmatkote, Khurshaida Begum (40), wife of Mohammed Sadaq and a resident of Kotli, Abdul Manan (40), son of Mohammed Yousaf and a resident of Hamosan, Mohammed Farooq (33), son Abdul Rashid and a resident of Badder, Farooq Ahmed (32), son of Ali Mohammed and a resident of Kunderdhan, Basharat Hussain (28), son of Nazir Ahmed and a resident of Hamosan, Raj Mohammed (45), son of Mohi-ud Din and a resident of Tulli, Naseem Akhter (30), wife of Nazir Ahmed and a resident of Dhamni, Zulaikha (30), wife of Mohammed Sharief and a resident of Channa, Ajeeta Devi (40), wife of Gulshan and a resident of Tulli, Rubina Akhter (6), daughter of Mohammed Amin and a resident of Hamosan, and Ghulam Qadir (45), son of Mohammed Sakhi and resident of Mamankote.

Police has taken cognizance of the incident.
