Ekal Vidyalay Foundation of India today organized an annual meet of Ekal Vidyalaya Abhiyan at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School Ramban here. The function was presided over by Dr. Mohan Lal Sharma Zila Sangchalak of RSS.
On the occasion Gurdev Kumar, Assistant Director Horticulture was the chief guest, where as Ved Bhushan Gupta, president Beopar Mandal was the guest of honor.
Cultural programmes were performed by the children of Ekal Vidyalaya of Ramban district. Rajinder Singh Katoch presented annual report of the Abhiyan.
The statement about the future programme and targets was delivered by Kuldeep Raj (Bhag Parmukh) member and coordinator of the executive committee. Kuldeep Raj informed that 60,000 Ekal Vidyalays are functioning in the country, out of which 3708 are in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said presently 210 Single Teacher School are functional in remote areas of Ramban district, 300 are in Kashmir and Leh and Kargil respectively and two dozen new schools are to be started in next financial year.
The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Mohan Lal Sharma, who highlighted the role of Ekal Vidyalaya Movement its achievements and the importance in nation building.
