The residents of village Hullar in district Kishtwar today demanded proper drainage system in the area, claiming that the lack of proper drainage has been affecting the local graveyard.
Score of residents while registering their grievances, said that village Hullar has been listed as Model Village in district Kishtwar, but unfortunately has remained deprived of the central and state sponsored schemes for development.
"In the past more than one decade, various schemes have been put in place for the development of the area, but all of them are piling dust on the administrative shelves," maintained locals, adding that despite the release of Rs 1.20 crore for the development of the village, it has remained untouched.
They lamented that due to apathy of the concerned departments, the temporary drains remain overflowing and chocked in village Hullar, thus causing huge problems for the locals, besides affecting local graveyard.
"The overflowing of drainage water not only spills filth on the road, but is also affecting the graveyard and has damaged its boundary wall," claimed locals adding that the leakage in water supply pipes of PHE department adds more problems.
They demanded that the concerned departments should take notice of the matter as soon as possible, so that the Hulalr graveyard should be saved and the problem of improper drainage should get mitigated.
