J&K Pradesh Congress Committee President, Ghulam Ahmed Mir today accused the PDP and the BJP of polarizing the polity in the state with electoral gains in mind.
Addressing a one day convention of Congress workers of district Rajouri, Mir claimed that the two parties had a hidden understanding before the election to polarize the sentiments of people of Kashmir and Jammu regions. He said the two parties "succeeded in their strategy as the people could not understand the politics of deception for the sake of electoral gains".
He said that Congress would continue to raise the issues of people both inside and outside the legislation and the parliament.
Mir also criticized the government for its "anti-youth" policy, saying the proposed recruitment policy would spoil the future of educated unemployed youth of the state.
He said the Congress will stage a comeback in the country and in the state "as people have realized the hollowness of politics of BJP-PDP and their betraying mandate of people".
Sham Lal Sharma-Senior Vice President PCC in his address asked party leaders and workers to vigorously launch membership drive in the districts and said that genuine party workers would be recognized from the grass root level.
N Rigzin Jora, Leader CLP in his address said that Congress is the only party in the country which has a vision and policies for maintaining the secular fabric of this pluralistic country with different regions, religions and faiths. He said that Congress has always respected the aspirations of the different sections of the society.
