District police today claimed to have arrested five persons for allegedly smuggling bovine animals and rescued 22 animals from their possession in two separate incidents.
Rajouri police today arrested two persons from Beri Pattan area of Sunderbani for allegedly smuggling bovine animals.
As per official reports, as a part of drive against menace of bovine smuggling, Rajouri police led by SHO Sunderbani Chaman Gorkha under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera-Sargun Shukla laid a naka at Beri Pattan, Sunderbani and arrested two people, who has been identified as Rajesh Kumar and Pawan Kumar, both residents of Siot. The police also rescued four animals from their possession, allegedly being smuggled from Akhnoor to Rajouri via Beri pattan.
In this connection case FIR 35/2015 us 188 RPC 3 PCA has been registered at police station Sunderbani and further investigation is going on.
Meanwhile, in another instance, the police also arrested three bovine smugglers and rescued 18 bovines from their possession.
Rajouri Police led by I/C PP Chingus SI Kabir Hussain under the supervision of SHO Rajouri Yashpaul Singh laid a naka at Chingus and intercepted three TATA mobiles bearing registration No.JK11-8273, driven by Mohammad Ravies of Khablan, JK02AL-1149 driven by Muzaffar Iqbal of Gran Kawa and JK02AD-0393 driven by Onkar Singh son of Gran.
On checking of these vehicles, the police found bovine animals. The police rescued all the animals from their possession and arrested all the three drivers on the spot.
The vehicles were also seized by the police. In this connection case FIR Nos. 282/2015, 283/2015, 284/2015 U/S 188 RPC 3 PCA have been registered at Police Station Rajouri.
