The Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash today visited Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC), Chakan-Da-Bagh, wherein he interacted with a group of traders.
Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Nisar Ahmed Wani, Senior Superintendent of Police, J S Johar and Senior BJP leader, Pardeep Sharma, the Minister met a delegation of traders who apprised him about the issues hampering smooth flow of cross LoC trade and put forth their demands for further growth and expansion of trade.
They demanded increase in number of tradable items as well as increase in the number of trucks allowed in a day and pressed for strengthening of infrastructure at TFC besides communication facility between traders of both sides. The delegation also asked for permission to J&K traders to visit PoK.
Saying that LoC trade is an effective tool of CBMs, the Minister assured the traders that all their issues will be addressed on priority basis to facilitate further growth in cross LoC trade.
The Minister also convened a meeting of officers of DIC, Handloom and KVIB to review their functioning in the district. The concerned officers briefed him about various activities of their departments.
The Minister emphasized on the need for establishing new industrial estates and asked the concerned officers to identify land for the same which would in turn help in the establishment of more industrial units and generation of employment for the unemployed youth in district.
Later, the Minister also addressed a public meeting at Dak Bungalow Poonch, where he reiterated the commitment of coalition government to work for overall development of the state with special focus on the hitherto neglected areas.
