Taking strong exception of dereliction of duties, the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Rajouri, today withheld the salaries of teaching as well as non-teaching staff members of three government schools.

A special inspection team under the CEO, Rajouri, Altaf Choudhary conducted surprise inspection in Government Middle School Khankhari, Government Primary School Khankhri and Government Girls Primary School Patrara.

During inspection, it was found that academic side of the students was very poor as most of the students were not even able to write simple alphabets of English and unable to answer simple subject questions.

Besides this, the CEO also took strong note of thin attendance of the students in the government schools as compared to the enrolled students.

In Government Middle School Khankhri, three teachers were on leave despite restriction that more than two teachers cannot be on leave together.

The CEO also criticized the teachers for their failure to maintain cleanliness in the premises of the schools.

Taking a strong note of this, District Education and Planning Officer Suresh Kumar has issued an order and ZEO Manjakote has been directed to withhold the salaries of whole staff of these three schools unless there is improvement in the overall functioning of the institutions.
