Members of a particualr community in Teryath area of Kalakote observed shutdown over an alleged incident of cow slaughter after which police have arrested two persons.
Reports said on Sunday evening an alleged cow slaughtering incident took place in a village falling under Teryath police post of Rajouri.
As the news spread, tension gripped the area this morning after which people from the Hindu community observed a bandh, shutting down business establishments. Amid protests they alleged that matter is being hushed up by the authorities.
Later officers from the administration interacted with the protesting people and told them that a case has already been registered and arrests have been made.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case US 298A RPC and so far arrested two Khalyar Teryath, who are alleged to have slaughtered a cow.
"We have registered a case and two accused have so far been arrested while further investigation is going on", SSP Rajouri, Rajeshwar Singh said. He added that situation is fully under control.
