48 baratis injured as bus turns turtle in Rajouri

Forty eight baratis sustained injuries, three of them critical, after an over speeding bus turned turtle in Jamola village of Rajouri today. 

As per police reports, a bus bearing registration number JKO2BF-3471, carrying the wedding party of one Mohinder Singh resident of Saranoo village was on way to Iran Khetar village of Thandikassi in Rajouri when at Jamola village on Rajouri-Kalakote road the vehicle turned turtle injuring 48 baratis.

Locals of the area and army teams present nearby rushed to the spot and started rescue operation which was later joined by police teams after which injured baratis were rushed to district hospital Rajouri.

A total of forty eight passengers were admitted in hospital out of which three injured namely Santosh Kumari and Jaswant Singh residents of Saranoo village and bus conductor Mohammad Asif resident of Thandapani were referred to GMC&H Jammu due to serious injuries, official said. They saaid fifteen injured are still admitted in district hospital and are out of danger. Rest of the injured passengers were discharged after first aid from district hospital, they further said. Reports said several baratis were also sitting on roof of the bus who fell into 70 metres deep gorge and were rescued by army teams. Police has also registered a case in this regard.
