Thousands of people from all corners of the State today thronged Tralla Rajouri to participate in Chahrum of Late Begum Ghulam Fatima mother of CAPD Minister Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali.
Quran Khawani and Majlis e Dua was performed for peace to the departed soul. Thousands of people from Pir Panjal area, Kashmir Valley, Ladakh region, Jammu and Chenab valley region visited the native house of Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali at Tralla Rajouri to extend sympathy to the family members.
Begum Ghulam Fatima died on April 22 at the age of 84. She was the wife of former Minister and five-time MLA Choudhary Mohammad Hussain and daughter of a Zaildar Ali Mohammad of Dewal area of Mahore.
She was known for her hospitality and great public relations and remained Nambardar for Tralla area for about 30 years.
The people recalled her contribution for the area especially women folk who always raised and mitigated issues of poor and down trodden in the community including women. Late Begum Ghulam Fatima is survived by 3 daughters and 3 sons including Minister Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, Director Pollution Control Board Shokat Chowdhary and Retired Cooperatives Registrar Shafiq Chowdhary.
Meanwhile the Minister Zulfkar Ali on behalf of all family members thanked Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Speaker Kavinder Gupta, Chairman JK Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali, Deputy Chairman Mir Jahingir, all Cabinet Ministers, Ministers of state, Legislators, Political activists, Social leaders, Trade Unions especially CAPD Trade Unions, Officers of state government, Police Officers, officers and officials of CAPD Department, District administration Rajouri , religious leaders, all relatives, friends and well-wishers and thousands of people who visited Tralla village and extended condolences to the family.
The Minister also thanked Masjid management committees, religious institutions, shrine management bodies and other institutions where special Majalis-e-Dua were organised in favour of his mother.
