School students protest ‘rash driving’ on highway

Students of a private school in Nowshera area of Rajouri blocked Jammu-Poonch highway and staged a protest demonstration over rash driving by passenger bus drivers.

Students of a private school in Nowshera area of Rajouri blocked Jammu-Poonch highway and staged a protest demonstration over rash driving by passenger bus drivers.

As per reports, a school bus of a private school was on way to Siot from Rajal when a rashly driven bus at Bagnoti hit it. All children in the school bus had a narrow escape.

Soon, all the students sat on protest on Jammu-Poonch highway and blocked it for traffic, stating that all the passenger buses playing on Jammu-Poonch highway are driven rashly and result in road accidents most of the time.

They further said a rashly driven bus overtook their school bus today on highway in Bagnoti village and put life of students in risk and all have a narrow escape.

These students refused to lift 'dharna' unless issue is addressed.

Soon ARTO Rajouri Jugal Sharma rushed to the spot and interacted with students and with the help of police managed to seize the passenger bus in Sunderbani. On this action, protest was called off.
