Rajouri police today said it traced a person who had gone missing 18 years ago and united him with his family.

As per police, a lady from Rajal village of Nowshera namely Alam Bi wife of Ghulam Hussain of Rajal Nowshera had lodged a complaint with police station Nowshera stating therein that her son had gone missing 18 years ago and his whereabouts were not known. 

The complainant, according to police, said that recently the family had come to know about a man working somewhere in Hoshiarpur Punjab believing he could be their son. 

After registering the missing report, police team headed by SHO Nowshera K Kuldeep assisted by SI Varuneshwar Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera, AdSP Nowshera and overall supervision of SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas, started investigation into the matter and a team was rushed to Hoshiarpur in Punjab which camped there and managed to intercept the man who during police interaction confirmed that he is a resident of Nowshera Rajal and left house 18 years ago when he was a child, police said. 

On this police returned along with the man and after legal formalities, he was united with his family living in Rajal village of Nowshera.  

During their union, the man recognised his mother. Tears rolled down the eyes of old woman and she showered her blessings on police for locating her missing son.
