A major dereliction of duty on the part of employees of health department came to fore today when seventeen employees, including three doctors, were found absent from duty in Thandikassi and Manjakote belts in Rajouri district.
Three of the absentees have been placed under suspension while action has also been initiated against fourteen others.
Reports said a team led by CMO Rajouri, AN Manhas paid a surprise visit to Medical Sub Centre Thandikassi where Pharmacist Pawan Kumar was found absent whose salary has been withheld and explanation served. They said FMPHW Sunita Sharma was also found unauthorisedly absent after which her two days' salary has been deducted.
Similarly at PHC Manjakote, CHO Sher Khan was found remaining absent for last one week whose salary has been withheld and explanation notice served.
Meanwhile, Senior Assistant Mukhtar Ahmed and Junior Assistant Balqis Akhter have been placed under suspension for unauthorised absence.
Besides this two to three days' salary of some other employees of PHC Manjakote including Lab Tech Rozi Devi, FMPHWs Shaheen Akhter, Zahira Arshad and Priyanka Gupta, Sheraz Ahmed, NO Mohammad Younis and PMA Tanveer Ahmed has been deducted for unauthorised absence from duty.
Meanwhile during inspection at PHC Gambhir Mughlan, five officials were found absent after which salary of four has been withheld and explanation notice served to MO ISM Dr. Javed Sarwar, Dr. Sheraz Ahmed, Dr. Rifat Tahira MO ISM, CHO Mukhtar Ahmed Wani wher as one Junior Assistant Tahira Akhter has been placed under suspension.
