Three houses were gutted while more than 20 animals were charred to death in multiple fire breakouts in Reasi district.
Reports said, “A fire broke out in the kacha house of Kiker Singh, son of Nek Ram and a resident of Baralla Mohalla, Sujandhar area. In the fire, the house was completely gutted while 2 cows, a buffalo, a newly-born calf and poultry were charred to death.”
The locals tried to douse the fire, but failed, an official said, adding that the cause of fire was not known yet.
Meanwhile, fires also broke out in the houses of Bashir Ahmed, son of Sadiq, and Shama Begum, wife of Ishira Gujjar. In the fire incidents, several animals, including a buffalo, 3 cows, 5 sheep, 6 goats and 2 calves were charred to death.
The police are trying to ascertain the cause of fires, an official said.
