300 passengers rescued from Mughal road after seven-hour struggle: Jammu and Kashmir Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army on Wednesday night rescued as many as 300 passengers, including fifteen women, stranded due to heavy snowfall on Mughal road in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, said a police official.

He said that 300 passengers were stranded at Pee Ki Gali on the highway after sudden snowfall.

   

“The police officials after trekking eight kilometers during the night reached at the spot and rescued 300 people, including fifteen women, some of them carrying small kids,” he said.

The operation was carried out by Poonch police along with an army unit, said the official, adding that the operation concluded at 1 am “after a seven-hour struggle.”
