As part of the anti-tobacco campaign, a daylong anti-tobacco workshop was organized at District Hospital Poonch today.
The campaign has been launched by the Government of J&K in collaboration with Dr. N C Prabhakar, Resource Person for the International Union against T.B. and Liaison Officer for Voluntary Health Association. Senior Superintendent of Police, J S Johar, Superintendent District Hospital, Dr. Niaz Chouhan, BMO Mandi, Dr. Shamim Bhatti, Advocate Sanjay Raina, K K Kapoor, Pardeep Khanna among several others participated in the workshop. Johar while speaking on the occasion highlighted the ill effects of tobacco consumption and stressed the need for implementation of Cigarette and Other Tobacco Product Act (COPTA) in all respect.
