Banned drugs seized in Rajouri, 2 arrested: Police

Rajouri, Feb 10: Two persons were arrested in Rajouri after recovering a consignment of banned drugs and tablets from their possession, Police said on Saturday.

A statement of J&K Police issued here said that under the aegis of ‘Operation Sanjeevani’, J&K Police in district Rajouri arrested two youngsters following a recovery of a consignment of banned drugs and tablets from their possession.

   

“A team of Police headed by SHO Rajouri intercepted two youngsters at Abdullah Bridge, Gujjar Mandi, Rajouri and recovered 60 strips of banned drugs Tramadol and Tependadole from their possession following which the duo was arrested,” Police said.

Police identified the accused as Shahbaz Ahmad and Yasir Lone, both residents of Ward No 2, Rajouri.

A criminal case under FIR No 54/2024 under Sections 8, 20, and 21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri, Police said.
