Protest rocked  Bata Dhurian village of Mendhar on Jammu Poonch highway after a boy was knocked to death by a car.

As per reports, " a boy identified as Mushraf Sarfaraz aging twelve son of Mohd Sarfaraz resident of Sangiote was moving along Jammu Poonch highway in Bata Dhurian village when he was hit by a car bearing registration number JK02B 9793".

After mishap took place, locals of the area shifted the boy to Sub District Hospital Surankote, where  he succumbed to injuries .

Block Medical Officer Surankote, Dr. Parvez Khan , when contacted said that, " body of boy was handed over to family for last rites after legal formalities and cause of death was due to head injury".

Meanwhile family members and other locals assembled on highway at Bata Dhurian village after the accident and blocked highway.  

The protesting people were raising slogans and demanding immediate arrest of accused car driver.

 A police team from police station Gursai reached on the spot and pacified the situation assuring arrest of car driver. 

"Police has taken cognizance of the matter and car has been seized," said officials.
