Celebrations culminate

The weeklong celebrations of Sangarsh— a civic movement for justice, equality, peace, prosperity and brotherhood— in connection to the Rajouri Day 2017 culminated today in a colourful prize distribution ceremony.

Minister For Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, was the chief guest while Vice Chairman  State Pahari Advisory Board, Kuldeep Raj Gupta was guest of honour.

In his address Minister Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali applauded the participation of young emerging talent of the border district in such kind of social activities which make the "pathways for developing academic and social personality."

"Rajouri Day Celebration would be only confined in the four walls of the army and there was very few civil society participation but from the last few years it is seen that civil society especially the youth has taken lead in organizing series of events on this occasion which symbolises the active concern of the youth towards the sacrifices of those who lost their lives so that we can breathe in a free atmosphere," Minister said.

He assured that his government will extend full support to the common man in meeting out their demands for bringing this district on the map of tourism and in this process the participation of young association like Sangarsh can play a vital role, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, MoS and Vice Chairman Pahari Advisory Board Kuldeep Raj Gupta, stressed to look into the pages of history when the people from all walks of the society stood united against the "Pakistan sponsored forces and got free this area."

While distributing the prizes among the winning students, DC  Rajouri Shaber Bhat showed his happiness over the participation in the Rajouri Day events.

He said the events like Display Your Talent, Self Purification Fast, Music evening, etc., are the signs that "our society in not confined in the four walls and is equally contributing in the progress of the nation."

Dr. Suresh Kumar and Vikrant Sharma carried out the proceedings of the programme.
