The Director General of Police, J&K Dr S P Vaid paid a visit to District Reasi here on Tuesday.

He  held a public meeting in DC Office Complex where Sarpanches/Panches and a large number of people of District Reasi participated. The DGP gave a patient hearing to them and assured them that J&K Police will always provide due assistance to the people in mitigating their genuine grievances. He asked the people to provide necessary co-operation to Police Department for making the society free from crime and other illegal activities. The DGP was accompanied by Sh. S.D Singh Jamwal-IPS IGP Jammu Zone, Sh. Virender Sharma-IPS, DIG UR Range, AIG Pers, AIG P/T, AIG Buildings, AIG Commn. and other Police Officers from PHQ. 

Later, the DGP visited District Police Lines Reasi where he was presented guard of honour at the Quarter Guard Complex and thereafter he held a darbar at DPL lawns which was attended by GOs, NGOs and Ors. Of District Police Reasi, IRP 1st Bn. and STC Talwara. 

Dy.SP DAR Reasi presented the welcome address and thereafter SSP Reasi highlighted various issues which require the attention by PHQ J&K. Many Police Personnel put forth their individual/ general grievances for which the DGP J&K gave on spot instructions for immediate redressal of their genuine problems. 

The DGP in his address informed that PHQ has taken many initiatives so far as welfare of Police Personnel is concerned which include increase in ex-gratia relief, enhancement of cash as retirement gift, transfer of welfare relief into the individual's bank account directly, MOU with SMVD Narayana Super Speciality Hospital Kakryal for providing 15% rebate for J&K Police, MOU with J&K Bank Ltd. for giving preferential  customer status to J&K Police Personnel and benefit of different schemes thereof and also MOU with LG Electronic Ltd. for providing various items to Police Personnel at CSD rates.

The DGP also launched android App (Katra Police) for assistance of yatries visiting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji Shrine. The DGP gave well wishes for the coming New Year to all the Police Personnel and asked them to work with more zeal and dedication.  Finally, he also had a round of the DPL complex to assess the on going works reports said.
