Department of food, civil supplies and consumer affairs (FCS&CA) Rajouri has seemingly become a goldmine for the employees of the department as in the past 6 years, in three different scams unearthed, several crores of rupees have been misappropriated.
In the fresh scam, vigilance organisation Jammu (VOJ) held tehsil supply officer (TSO) Rajouri and a store keeper besides booking others for misappropriation of government ration worth over Rs 55 lakh.
Earlier, a ration scam of several crores was unearthed in 2014 when two officials of department were nabbed by Jammu and Kashmir police with Rs 2 crores in cash.
Challan in the case was filed by crime branch in the court on April 10, 2018.
In the investigation of the this case, it was found that huge quantity of ration shown fictitiously dispatched to dealers was misappropriated by the CA&PD (Then name of the department) officials.
During investigation, it also came to fore that huge quantity of ration lifted by CA&PD Rajouri from FCI Godown Rajouri was fraudulently issued to the private ration dealers.
Another scam was reported in the town when vigilance organisation Jammu registered a case against an officer of department for misappropriating funds worth several crores by fraudulently selling the subsidized Kerosene oil.
The fresh scam came to fore after VOJ registered a case against a TSO of department, a store keeper and some more officials for bungling of ration worth more than Rs 55 lakh.
