GK IMPACT: Admin asks committee to probe bridge collapse

Taking note of a news published in Greater Kashmir, regarding a footbridge collapsing within a year of its construction in Kala Ban village, authorities on Friday asked the probe committee to visit the site and furnish the report within a week.

Pertinently, in its February 22 edition, Greater Kashmir reported about a footbridge, under the rural development department, collapsing within a year of its construction in Kala Ban village of Mendhar. The locals had demanded a probe into the incident.

   

Meanwhile, taking note of the story, the assistant commissioner development, Poonch, ordered the executive engineer of rural engineering wing department and an assistant executive engineer to visit the site and furnish the report within a week.

In the order, it has been mentioned that a probe had been ordered, but the then executive engineer REW Poonch, who was heading the probe committee, was transferred. The new executive engineer has been asked to conduct an in-depth probe by visiting the site and furnishing the report within a week.
