Former minister and senior National conference leader MianAltaf Ahmed castigated the present PDP-led government for neglecting Rajouri and Poonch districts, saying that the present dispensation has failed to do anything for the welfare and development of the people of these areas in last three years.

MianAltaf, who is on a two-day tour of Poonch and Rajouri district, was apprised by the locals about their grievances, particularly about unemployment and developmental issues, like lack of road infrastructure, power supply and acute shortage of water and health infrastructure.

"The present government has neglected the twin districts as the areas here are facing extreme crisis of development related issues," said MianAltaf, in a press statement. He added that the PDP-BJP dispensation only believes in photo sessions and press statements, while there is no visible work on the ground level.

The press statement further mentions that the government has also failed to take up the 4-laning of Jammu-Poonch road, a project that was sanctioned in the Prime Minister's package in 2015.

He said, "The government has failed to provide any relief to the cross-border shelling affected people."

The former minister was accompanied by senior NC leader and former MP Mirza Abdul Rashid and ChowdharyLiyaqat.
