Guranak residents decry water crisis

The residents of Guranak village of Poonch's Mandi tehsil are decrying water crisis in their village due to closure of a water supply scheme.

The locals of the area, including Sarpanch Aijaz AhmedTantray, told Greater Kashmir: "Water supply scheme for our village area hasbeen lying completely closed since the past three months. Due to this, peopleare striving hard for every drop of water."

They further said that water crisis in the holy month ofRamadan is a major problem and people are suffering.

"The locals have to walk for over three kilometres tofetch water from natural sources," they said, while demanding the DeputyCommissioner Poonch to intervene and solve the issue.
