Legislators from Rajouri district today raised several issues of their areas in the District Development Board meeting held in Rajouri today.
MLA Darhal and FCSCA Minister, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that the DDB meeting ended on a positive note.
"We have approved plan for next financial year and many new projects including Budhal Shopian road and establishing Mother and Child Care hospital in Kotranka have been given nod by DDB " Zulfkar told media person.
MLA Kalakote and Fisheries Minister Abdul Ghani Kohli also said that DDB meeting ended on a positive note and plan for next financial year has been devised.
He however raised serious concern on the functioning of Municipal Committee Kalakote and demanded that the said government wing should be closed as it's not coming up to the expectations of people in Kalakote.
MLA Nowshera Ravinder Raina said that all the issues of public concern and development were put in DDB meeting and Chairman of board has assured that same will be solved.
Raina said that directions have been issued to the officers of all the departments to ensure free and fair functioning and eradication of corruption at any cost.
MLA Rajouri Chowdhary Qamar Hussain said that issues of Rajouri assembly segment were put before DDB meeting and most of the same will be solved in next financial year.
"DDB Chairman Rajouri district, Agriculture Minister GN Lone is keen for inclusive development of Rajouri district and a new financial year plan has been approved," MLA said.
Vice Chairman Pahari Advisory Board, Kuldeep Raj Gupta said that he raised the issue of delay in construction of mini secretariat in Rajouri and DDB chairman assured that he will personally look after the issue.
MLC Vibodh Gupta said that he demanded upgradition of Municipal Committee Rajouri to Municipal Council status besides immediate start of work on recently approved new water supply scheme of Rajouri town.
MLC Surinder Chowdhary raised serious concern on the data shown by Public Works Department in DDB meeting and said that on one hand it has been shown that 34 kilometres of road has been blacktopped in Nowshera but on ground nothing has been done.
MLC Surinder Chowdhary also demanded an inquiry alleging that payment of construction of building of Sub District Hospital Nowshera has been done but the said building is yet to be completed.
7 officers in 'loop' for remaining absent in DDB meet
Government has asked seven top officials of various departments to explain their absence in the District Development Board Rajouri.
Minister for Food, Civil Services and Consumer Affairs department, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that DDB is a credible institution in its own and government has already prioritised it.
"Unfortunately, HODs of seven departments were not present in this meeting and we have sought explanation from them," Zulfkar said adding that if any officer was absent due to carelessness, action will be taken.
MLC Surinder Chowdhary termed this a serious issue and said: "I am of the view that action against those officers who remained absent due to careless behaviour should be taken."
