After remaining closed for over five months, the historic Mughal road was reopened for traffic on Wednesday with single lane movement of light motor vehicles allowed to travel from Poonch side.
Official sources said that decision to open the road wastaken after a joint inspection by teams of Mughal Road project authorities,mechanical engineering department and traffic police was conducted on Tuesdaywherein the road was found fit for the movement of light vehicles.
Deputy Inspector General of Police in Rajouri Poonch range,Vivek Gupta, Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch Ramesh Angral alongwithother officers of police also visited the road and took stock of the trafficmovement.
