Murder of Panjgrian man: Victim’s relatives stage protest

Relatives of a middle-aged man, who was allegedly murdered during a minor scuffle in Niaka Panjgrian village of Manjakote yesterday, staged a protest demonstration last night.

While taking the body of the victim to his residence from Rajouri district hospital after the post-mortem, families and relatives of the victim assembled on Jammu Poonch highway and raised slogans.

They demanded that the accused who is absconding be arrested.

Soon SDPO Manjakote, DySP Zakir Shaheen Mirza reached on the spot and pacified the situation assuring the people of fair investigation would be done and the accused would be arrested soon.

On this assurance, the protest was called off.

Meanwhile police has detained two women in the case for questioning while main accused Khaled Hussain son of Mohammad Hussain is still absconding.
