Srinagar, Aug 26: Police on Saturday opened fire after observing suspicious movement during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Surankote tehsil of Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir.
Reports said that Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel who were part of a CASO opened speculative firing after observing a suspicious movement in Gangna top under the jurisdiction Police station Surankote in Poonch.
SDPO Surankote Hamid Ali told Greater Kashmir correspondent Ishrat Butt that the search operation ended this morning.
He said some speculative shots were fired by the police personnel after they observed a suspicious movement.
"The operation ended this morning," he added.
