Several villages in sub-division Mahore of Reasi district have been without electricity since at least a week, irking the residents and throwing normal life out of gear.
The residents of Gulabgarh, Lar, Khor, Baransal and Kaidoora among others told Greater Kashmir, "Since the last snowfall, our areas have been without electricity. As a number of wires, poles and transformers suffered damage due to the inclement weather, the power supply continues to remain snapped since more than a week."
They alleged, "Even after repeated requests, the power development department has failed to repair the requisite infrastructure and we are bearing the brunt."
As per the locals, the transformer of Mamakote, Ward 7 in Chassana tehsil, suffered damage around ten days ago, while transformer in Channa village developed a technical snag on January 21. "Since at least a week, we are living without electricity. The department is not bothered and we continue to suffer," they said.
They urged upon the Governor to direct the concerned authorities and mitigate their issues.
