Police today arrested two persons involved in attacking a cop when he was transporting a bovine milch animal. 

As per sources, police party of Rajouri police station arrested Nedar Singh (50) from his residence, Jawahar Nagar.  Singh is said to be the main accused in the assault case, who along with others, attacked the police cop namely Abdul Hamid while he was transporting a milch animal for domestic use.

The incident had trigger tension in sensitive border town and 2 day protest shutdown by majority community who also demanded   arrest of Singh and other persons involved in the attack of the cop.

Sources further said yesterday mid-night Police arrested Lokesh Kumar (20) resident of Potha Village who was also involved in  the attack.

When contacted, SSP Rajouri, Dr Haseeb Mughal confirmed that two persons have been arrested in connection with the assault.

"We arrested two accused while investigation is still on ," he said.

 He added that law will take its own course and no will spare for taking law in hand.
