Magisterial probe ordered by the government to probe the circumstances which led to recent communal tension and law and order problem in Rajouri town and to probe the alleged lapses in execution to enforce law, commenced on Thursday.
The Magisterial probe was ordered by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Bhat on the directions of state government vide his officer order no JC/DMR/1571-74 Dated 16-09-2016 . He had appointed Assistant Commissioner Revenue Paramjeet Singh as inquiry officer.
After restoration of normalcy and lifting of curfew, the Magisterial inquiry committee started its work and a general notice has been issued.
As per a General Notice issued from DC Office Rajouri under the sign and seal of AC Revenue vide office letter no JC/DMR/2051-55 dated 19/09/2016, people have been asked to get their statements recorded before the Investigating Officer so that proceedings of the inquiry can be given final shape. " Anybody having sufficient knowledge / clues about the circumstances which led to the law and order problem on 14th September 2016 may attend the office of AC Revenue in DC Office complex from 28th to 30th September 2016 between 10 AM to 1:30 PM and produce necessary record / evidences and get their statements recorded in support of their contentions" states the General Notice which has been pasted on streets of town for public information.
