Despite no untoward incident being reported in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, mobile internet services continue to remain snapped. Residents of Budhal and Kotranka are the worst sufferers as there are no Broadband services in these areas.
Talking to Greater Kashmir Shahnawaz, a university student living in Budhal, said that all the students of his area are facing tough time in absence of the internet services.
" Broadband services of BSNL are already not available in the area. In absence of mobile internet we have been disconnected from rest of the world. These services should be restored forthwith," he added.
Mohit Singh from Kotranka also castigated government for banning mobile internet services without any reason. He described it as a major hurdle in their day to day work.
"In Kotranka, there is no Broad Band service and internet can only be accessed through mobile phones and dongles but these services have been snapped for the past three weeks," Mohit said.
A senior officer of Kotranka sub division said, "Official work has been suffering in absence of internet services."
Meanwhile one Ilyas Ahmed, a college student of Rajouri, said that there is complete normalcy in Rajouri and Poonch and people can be seen doing normal work with people from all religions and walks of society living collectively. " What type of normalcy is government waiting for?" he questioned.
People of Poonch are also up in arms against the authorities for snapping internet services.
A journalist Ravi Verma termed ban on Internet as "unjustified" and without any reason.
A senior administrative officer, wishing anonymity, said that decision to impose ban on mobile internet in Rajouri and Poonch has been taken at higher level and they are helpless.
