Unidentified militant killed in ongoing gunfight in J&K’s Poonch: Army

Rajouri Dec 14: An unidentified militant was killed in an ongoing gunfight between security forces and militants in upper reaches of Surankote sub-division in J&K’s Poonch district on Tuesday, officials said.

They said the encounter broke out in Rattan Pir area after a Cordon and Search Operation was launched in the area spread over many villages of Surankote following a tip off about the presence of militants there.

   

As per Jammu based Army PRO, Lt Col Devender Anand, an unidentified militant has been killed in the encounter he said is going on. However his body is yet to be retrieved from the site of the encounter, Lt Col Anand added.

Senior army and police officers have rushed to the spot.
