The mobile phone of the victim helped police to crack a cold blooded murder of a Ganderbal based driver by his own friends. 

The arrest of one of the accused unrevealed the gruesome tale of murder and loot, police said. They said  that four persons said to be the friends of the victim murdered looted cash, mobile phone and vehicle of the Kashmir based driver and dumped his body under a culvert in Rajal village of Nowshera.

 As per police, the Scorpio driver namely Tariq Ahmed son of Mohammad Afzal resident of Gandoh Ganderbal went missing from his house about nineteen days ago after which family lodged a missing complaint and Gabderbal police started investigation into the matter.

"Mobile phone of the missing driver was put on surveillance and after seventeen days it was activated and  the  Ganderbal police team zeroed at a mobile phone shop in Rajouri" they said. 

 Sources said that the police recovered the mobile phone and shop owner confessed that he has purchased it from one Aftab Ahmed alias Taba resident of Badhoon Rajouri.

Police zeroed on Aftab who was in Delhi and managed to nab him as soon as he returned back.

During interrogation, Aftab confessed that he along with his three associates murdered the   driver and threw his body beneath the culvert in Rajal village of Nowshera. 

He further disclosed that they killed the driver to loot the cash and other valuable items.

Police have registered a case FIR 102/2016 US 302, 382, 34 RPC and launched a manhunt to nab other three accused.
