The villagers of Kappa Kha village  today blocked Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University road for more than an hour to protest against severe water crisis.

A number of villagers including women   assembled on BGSB University road near PHE filtration plant Dhani Dhar and disrupted vehicular traffic amid slogans against PHE department. Locals claimed that they were not receiving regular water supply for several months. The protestors  blamed carelessness of some employees 'who are posted for several years at the local water supply schemes for the problem'.  "These employees have become a cause of headache for common masses as they hardly supply water" the protestors alleged.

" Our children are going school without taking bath, while women have to trek several kilometers to get water for daily chorus" the protestors said demanding immediate response from PHE.

Later DySP HQrs Hamid Chowdhary rushed to the spot and pacified the situation by assuring protestors that their problem has been taken up PHE department. He said that the department has assured to streamline  the supply at the earliest.

After his assurance the protest was called off.
