Woman arrested along with paramour, brother for allegedly murdering husband

Srinagar, Nov 9: Police on Tuesday arrested a woman, her brother and paramour for allegedly murdering the former’s 38-year-old husband last month in Dhargloon area of Mendhar in J&K’s Poonch district.

According to news agency GNS, police had recovered body of the deceased chemist Tahir Mehmood, son of late Mohammad Sadeeq, a retired ZEO under suspicious circumstances inside his room on October 2.

   

Subsequently, police launched inquest proceedings under section 174 Cr.PC in police Station.

SDPO Mendhar Z A Jaffri told GNS that on the basis of material as well as technical evidence, the inquest proceedings were converted into case FIR NO 115/2021 under section IPC’s 306 (Abetment of suicide) 111(punishment for thug) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) against Zaib Ul-Nisa, wife of Tahir Mehmood, Mohammad Iqbal, her paramour and Razwan Ahmed, her brother- all residents of Dhargloon Tehsil Mendhar and all of whom have now been arrested.

“The extra-marital affair of his wife became cause for Tahir Mehmood’s murder,” Jaffri said adding further investigation is going on and developments in the case will be shared accordingly.

This is the third murder case solved in last three months by the police in Mendhar. Earlier police solved Shahnaz Akhter and Shariq murder cases.
