Jammu: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged protests in Jammu and Srinagar on Sunday. A statement of AAP issued here said that protests were held against Adani-related issue.
Speaking in these protests outside the BJP office in Jammu as well as the BJP office in Kashmir, the AAP leaders said Adani had government’s patronage.
“AAP is demanding to form Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) and we want to know why only one person was benefitted so much. But there is no reply from the government and it is running away from its responsibilities,” the statement quoted the AAP leaders as saying. During a protest in Jammu outside the BJP’s party office, hundreds of AAP leaders assembled raising slogans against BJP for its role in Adani scam and the protest continued for hours, the AAP statement said.
It said that in Kashmir, Police detained many AAP leaders during a protest outside the BJP office while many leaders were placed under “house arrest” inside the AAP office.
