Ensure uninterrupted power, supply of essentials during Ramadhan: Sajjad Shaheen

Banihal, Mar 12: National Conference (NC) leader and District President Ramban Sajjad Shaheen has urged the Lieutenant Governor  led administration to make all adequate arrangements including uninterrupted power and water supplies for ensuing the holy month of Ramadhan in district Ramban including Gool and Sangaldan.

During his day-long extensive tour to Gool, Sandaldan, Kaintha and Harog on Monday, Shaheen met scores of people and also interacted with party workers. The locals apprised him about the dilapidated condition of  roads, erratic power supply in far-off areas besides lack of health care facilities in their villages, a press release said.

   

The people also complained about the scarcity of drinking water in several villages and demanded Construction of Sub-district hospital building at Gool and immediate construction of a bridge at Chapran Nallah.

“There is a need for the constitution of special market checking squads to keep the check on profiteering, hoarding and black-marketing and also asked the district and the local administration to ensure strict implementation of government approved rate lists,”the NC leader  said.

Shaheen further demanded that the district  and Tehsil level authorities must ensure availability of essential commodities in the market including vegetables and poultry besides timely supply of gas, Kerosene, flour and sugar from the government depots to the consumers.

Shaheen further stressed on the need for uninterrupted power and water supply across the district particularly far flung areas of all the Tehsils of Banihal, Khari ,Ramsoo,Neel, Pogal-Paristan and Ramsoo besides Ramban, Gool, Sangaldan , Batote, Sumar and other areas during the holy month of Ramadan particularly during Sehri and Iftaar time.

Later, Shaheen and other party functionaries, went to the residences of the two accident victims in Kentha, Gool, who recently died in a  road accident near Battery Cheshma, near Ramban, to offer condolences to the bereaved families.
