Hakeem Yaseen concerned over grim power scenario

Srinagar, Apr 27: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has expressed serious concern over the worsening power scenario in Kashmir.

In a statement he said that the people have been put to severe hardships due to unscheduled and prolonged power cuts. Yaseen castigated government for its total failure to manage adequate power supply for the consumers of Kashmir. “In a welfare state, government can not escape from its responsibility to provide adequate services to its people , irrespective of monetary considerations . The grim power scenario in Kashmir has hit hard every sector especially industrial unit holders, hoteliers and students community ,” he said.

   

PDF Chairman has urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to earmark liberal funds for purchase of more electricity from NHPC and other power corporations . He has also demanded a thorough brobe as to why PDD has failed to achieve desired results out of much talked about multi crore smart metering project.
